[origin: US4973825A] A circulation fan for circulating air in the baking muffle of an oven in which a conductive connection is made between the drive shaft and the back wall of the baking muffle whereby the RF energy passing outward over the surface of the drive shaft is short-circuited via the back wall of the baking muffle. The conductive connection is in the form of a spring element, e.g. a clamping member or a disk spring, whereby manufacturing and operational variations are compensated for. If the portion of the drive shaft located outside the baking muffle is roughened and/or covered with an electrically poorly conducting coating, further damping of the escaping RF energy is obtained.

Bei kombinierten Umluft- und Mikrowellenöfen muß der Austritt hochfrequenter Energie nach außen verhindert werden. Eine wirkungsvolle, aber teure Maßnahme ist die Verwendung einer keramischen Antriebswelle für das Gebläse. Erfindungsgemäß wird eine leitende Verbindung (13) zwischen Antriebswelle (12) und Backmuffelrückwand (11) hergestellt, die die an der Oberfläche der Antriebswelle nach außen gelangende hochfrequente Energie über die Backmuffelrückwand kurzschließt. Als leitende Verbindung wird ein Federelement, beispielsweise eine Klemmbrille oder eine Tellerfeder verwendet, wodurch fertigungs- und betriebsbedingte Toleranzen ausgeglichen werden. Wird der außerhalb der Backmuffel liegende Teil der Antriebswelle aufgerauht und/oder mit einer elektrisch schlecht leitenden Schicht überzogen, stellt dies eine weitere Dämpfung für die nach außen gelangende Hochfrequenzenergie dar.
