[origin: EP0369562A2] In an apparatus for machining plate-glass, a bridge (6) which can be moved in a reciprocating manner on a work-holding table (2) is provided with a longitudinal guide (7) for a plurality of slides (8, 9, 10). The slides serve to accommodate tool or workpiece carriers (11) which form easily interchangeable glass-machining modules. On account of the interchangeability of the tool or workpiece carriers, the apparatus can be reset without delay for machining tasks of the most varied type. Consequently, the apparatus is distinguished by a high degree of universality and replaces a multiplicity of special machines. <IMAGE>
