Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0369933A1] Low-water level washing machines are run at the start of the wash cycle at a low, moistening speed to improve the wetting of the load and are only switched to a higher, washing speed after the moistening phase. This means that moistening of the load is favoured only at the start of the wash cycle. The new washing method is intended to achieve good wetting and washing over the entire wash cycle. Good wetting and washing are achieved by setting the drum speed in a wash cycle during the on period of the drive motor in both directions of rotation first to a high speed (n1) for a predetermined period (t1) in the course of the on period and after expiration of this time period to a lower speed (n2). The method is suitable for drum washing machines which have control means for setting the speed of the drive motor and whose drums are equipped with means for scooping the wash liquor. <IMAGE>
