[origin: JPH02182920A] PURPOSE: To provide a funnel having an air squeeze-out means and an air suction chamber between two funnels and capable of reducing the expansion of a sliver with air and readily threading a sliver therethrough. CONSTITUTION: This funnel mechanism for a carding machine is obtained by attaching a housing 18 of a second funnel 14 to a flange 21 of a first funnel 16 having a protruding nozzle 17 on the side of two rollers 12 and 13 with screws 19, connecting a chamber 22 between both the funnels 14 and 16 through a port 23 to an air suction source and providing an air squeeze-out means 15 at the tip of the second funnel 14. As one example thereof, a means formed of a conical coil made of spring steel is used.

Eine Trichteranordnung (10) am Ausgang einer Karde oder Strecke zur Zusammenführung eines Faserbandes zeichnet sich durch einen Vortrichter (14), durch einem diesem nachgeschaltete Luftabquetscheinrichtung (15) und einem weiteren Trichter (16) aus, und ist vorzugsweise mit einem die Luftabquetscheinrichtung (15) umgebenden und einer Luftabführkammer (22) bildenden Gehäuse (18) versehen, das sich zumindest im wesentlichen vom Vortrichter (14) bis zum Trichter (16) erstreckt.
