Abstract (en)
The invention consists in reproducing, in particular with the aid of a light emitter (23), in the plane of an optical detector (24), the profile of an object or of a set of objects in contact or overlapping on a conveyor belt (21), for example newspapers (20), in the form of a function Y = f(X), then in examining the profile by two receivers (27, 28) delimited by two slots (30, 31), seeing to it that the intersections of the function Y and the lines representing the two receivers are reduced approximately to two points and that the distance between the two lines is the smallest possible, and finally in continuously determining the derivative Y'(X) and in activating an electronic circuit associated with the detector (24) generating an output signal proportional to the value of the derivative Y'(X). In the case of detection and of counting, the output signal is compared to a predetermined value, representative of an instantaneous variation (22) of the profile and a pulse is emitted when the output signal becomes greater than the predetermined value. L'invention consiste à reproduire , notamment à l'aide d'un émetteur lumineux (23), dans le plan d'un détecteur optique (24) le profil d'un objet ou d'un ensemble d'objets en contact ou se chevauchant sur une bande de transport (21), par exemple des journaux (20), sous la forme d'une fonction Y = f(X), puis à explorer le profil par deux récepteurs (27,28) délimités par deux fentes (30,31), faisant en sorte que les intersections de la fonction Y et les lignes représentant les deux récepteurs soient réduites approximativement à deux points et que la distance entre les deux lignes soit la plus petite possible, et enfin à déterminer en permanence la dérivée Y'(X) et à actionner un circuit électronique associé au détecteur (24) engendrant un signal de sortie proportionnel à la valeur de la dérivée Y'(X). Dans le cas de la détection et du comptage, le signal de sortie est comparé à une valeur prédéterminée , représentante d'une variation instantanée (22) du profil et une impulsion est émise quand le signal de sortie devient supérieur à la valeur prédéterminée. L'invention s'applique aussi à la détection des casses de fils.
