[origin: WO8907692A1] End-cap for fitting to tubes (T) of different diameters, wherein the base (7) has the form of a truncated cone. The main portion of the base comprises the arms (1, 2) of the end-cap. At least one aperture (10) is provided between the arms to allow communication between the inside of the tube/end-cap assembly and the outer atmosphere and enable protective treatment by immersion in a bath. A further side aperture (11) is provided on a generatrix of the base. In the case of an end-cap consisting of two assembled elements, the openings (10, 11) are made in the edges (12A, 12B, 13A, 13B) during manufacture of said elements.
