Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0371209A2] The invention relates to a pulmonarily actuated valve (1) for overpressure operation in the interior of a protective breathing mask, consisting of a valve housing (2) having a spring-loaded control diaphragm (8), which subdivides the valve (1) into an outer chamber (16) connected to ambient pressure and a breathing chamber (17) carrying the breathing gas, the control diaphragm (8) controlling an inlet valve (6) for the breathing gas via a manually released control button (11) and a lever device (13, 14). The invention solves the problem of preventing unintentional release or switching on of the valve from the rest position into the operating position in the event of external vibrations. This is done by virtue of the fact that in its central region the control diaphragm (8) has an elastic protuberance (9) with a depression (9a) into which in the event of release of the control button (11) a tappet (12) integrally formed thereon can lock home positively and carry along the control diaphragm (8) with the protuberance (9) into a recess (24), arranged above the control diaphragm, of an insert (10). In this connection, the protuberance (9) is supported in the recess (24) lying tightly against it. <IMAGE>
