Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0371276A1] The invention relates to a device for piling flat items, preferably double bags cut by the torch from a sheet of plastic tube or semitube having opening edges situated in the region of their centre lines, which opening edges are pinned by a transfer device consisting of a so-called wicketer having transport arms (7), which are fixed to a shaft (2), rotate about a horizontal axis, and are arranged radially in pairs, on a holding plate (20, 21), arranged in a piling station and bearing projecting piling pins (22) or needles in the region of their longitudinal centre line to form piles. The achievement of the object to provide a device of this type, in which piles are formed and conveyed off with continuous conveyance of the flat items without parts of the piling apparatus needing to be briefly accelerated or braked, lies in the fact that two radial holding plates (20, 21) are mounted rotatably on the shaft (2) or axle, which holding plates are each fitted with separate drives (16, 17) for swivelling them into their piling position receiving the items, and that an apparatus is provided for removing the piles from the holding plates (20, 21) rotated one after the other into the piling position and for the transport of said piles. <IMAGE>
