In order to improve and simplify the construction and operation of the needle beds and hinge systems for the whole range of bonding technology, the lifting plates (H) are designed to raise the second needle ends (2) in two stages to half and full height, the hinge system has control tongue (S1) which can be swung in the hinge plane by the first needle ends (1) in the hinge system and at least one first group of hinge components (A1.1, A1.2, A2.1, A2.1) which can be engaged and disengaged perpendicularly to the hinge plane.

Eine Flachstrickmaschine weist in den Nadelkanälen der Nadelbetten hintereinander angeordnet Federschaftnadeln (N) mit ersten und zweiten Nadelfüßen (1, 2) und verschiebbare Hebeplatinen (H) mit einem Arbeitsfuß (3) sowie ein Schloßsystem mit wenigstens zwei in der Schloßebene verschiebbaren Nadelsenkern (N2.1, N2.2) auf. Um Aufbau und Betrieb von Nadelbetten und Schloßsystemen bei voller Vielfalt der Bindungstechnologien zu verbessern und zu vereinfachen, sind die Hebeplatinen (H) zweistufig zum Heben der zweiten Nadelfüße (2) in halbhohe und vollhohe Stellungen ausgebildet, ist im Schloßsystem eine durch die ersten Nadelfüße (1) in der Schloßebene verschwenkbare Steuerzunge (S1) vorgesehen, und ist im Schloßsystem wenigstens eine erste Gruppe von senkrecht zur Schloßebene in und außer Tätigkeit schaltbaren Schloßteilen (A1.1, A1.2, A2.1, A2.2) vorgesehen.
