[origin: EP0371954A1] Device for spreading out and pressing together the free excess length above the filling material of filled bags with lateral walls which are folded inwards, in which there are provided two pairs of fingers which engage in the opened bag and which are movable in the plane of the bag opening or in a plane parallel to the latter as well as in a plane perpendicular to the latter, the fingers of each pair being at a distance from one another in the transverse direction of the bag opening, and two rods or blades which are movable in opposite directions to one another and which, from the outside of the bag, can be inserted between the fingers of each pair of the fingers which engage in the bag, possibly on both sides of a closable filling funnel of a bag-filling device. In order to ensure a perfect spreading out of any folds in the excess length of the bag, it is envisaged that the fingers (9, 9') of each pair of fingers (9, 9') engaging in the bag (15) are arranged eccentrically on discs (10) which are rotatable in opposite directions. <IMAGE>
