[origin: EP0372286A1] A liftable and lowerable installation platform (5) is provided with rails (11, 12) which are arranged concentrically about the axis (2') of the blast furnace (2) and on which an installation device (13) can travel. The installation device (13) consists of a vehicle frame (14), a swivel arm (21) arranged thereon and a receiving means (28) located on the latter and having an essentially horizontal support part (36) and an essentially perpendicular locating part (37). The receiving means (28) can be sensitively adjusted in its longitudinal and transverse inclination as well as in its height and its radial orientation. A platform-like design of the support part (36) enables cooling elements (1) to be taken hold of from below and the receiving part (36) to move into the gap between two cooling elements (1) arranged one above the other. The novel device enables the cooling elements to be installed from top to bottom as well as from bottom to top and even enables individual cooling elements to be exchanged.
