[origin: US4971350A] A downhill ski has side walls which form, over at least a part of their length, an acute angle with the base and have a continuously varying slope and are asymmetrical. The slope angle of one of the side walls increasesfrom tip to waist and decreases from waist to tail, while the slope angle of the other side wall decreases from tip to waist and increases from waist to tail. The two skis of a given pair are symmetrical to one another relative to a longitudinal plane located midway between the two skis, so that like side walls can be alternately positioned adjacent each other to suit different snow conditions. The construction provides enhanced versatility for varying snow conditions.

Ski dont les chants forment, sur au moins une partie de leur longueur, un angle avec la semelle, aigu, d'inclinaison variable de façon continue, et dont les deux chants sont asymétriques. Selon l'invention, l'angle d'inclinaison de l'un (5) des chants augmente de la spatule (8) au patin (9) et diminue du patin (9) au talon (10), tandis que l'angle d'inclinaison de l'autre chant (6) diminue de la spatule (8) au patin (9) et augmente du patin (9) au talon (10), les deux skis d'une même paire étant symétriques l'un de l'autre par rapport à un plan situé longitudinalement à mi-distance entre les deux skis. Application à la fabrication d'un ski alpin polyvalent.
