The invention relates to a connector for telecommunication and data processing, consisting of a plug (1) with a housing (2) and a plug tongue (5) held in the latter and exhibiting contact tracks (6) and of a connecting or separating strip (20), symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal centre axis, with a strip body (21) with clamping slots (22) exhibiting two parallel rows of contacts (23) and with a central row of plug-in openings (24), which are associated with contact springs (25) for plugging-in the plug tongue (5). To create a reliable anti-twisting protection for the plug (1), it is provided in accordance with the invention that at least one nose (9, 10) protruding over the lower edge (11) of the housing (2) is arranged at one narrow side (16) of the housing (2) of the plug (1) and that a row of clamping slots (22) of the strip body (21) is provided with a cover (30). <IMAGE>

Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Steckverbindung der Fernmelde- und Datentechnik, bestehend aus einem Stecker (1) mit einem Gehäuse (2) und einer in diesem gehaltenen, Kontaktbahnen (6) aufweisenden Steckerzunge (5) und aus einer zur Längsmittelachse symmetrischen Anschluß- oder Trennleiste (20) mit einem Leistenkörper (21) mit zwei parallelen Reihen von Kontakte (23) aufweisenden Klemmschlitzen (22) und mit einer mittleren Reihe von Stecköffnungen (24), denen Kontaktfedern (25) zum Einstecken der Steckerzunge (5) zugeordnet sind. Um einen sicheren Verdrehungsschutz für den Stecker (1) zu schaffen, ist erfindungsgemäß vorgesehen, daß an einer Schmalseite (16) des Gehäuses (2) des Steckers (1) mindestens eine über die Unterkante (11) des Gehäuses (2) hervorstehende Nase (9,10) angeordnet ist und daß eine Reihe von Klemmschlitzen (22) des Leistenkörpers (21) mit einer Abdeckung (30) versehen ist.
