Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0373548A2] For the mutually independent release of two foot support elements which are respectively provided on the outside with locking pins and on the inside with locking devices, a compressionally stable but otherwise movable connection - in the particular case two hydraulic pressure cylinders which are connected by means of a line - is arranged on the snowboard. It is now possible to get into the locking pistons of the connection with the foot support elements which are then respectively snapped into an automatic binding device on their outside. If one automatic device is then released in the event of a fall, the locking piston of the other foot support element loses counterpressure, and the virtually simultaneous release of both foot support elements is guaranteed. In practical application, conventional ski bindings can be used as automatic binding devices. The foot support elements serve likewise to receive proven boot-holding systems. <IMAGE>
