[origin: EP0374124A2] In a closing mechanism for binders having a turnover guide, formed from rigid (1) and movable (3) spikes, for perforated sheets, in which the rigid spikes (1) are firmly anchored on a baseplate (2) and the movable pins (3) are fastened on a swivel clamp (4) which is swivellably mounted on the baseplate (2) and engages with an actuating lever (6) for opening and closing the turnover guide, which lever can be moved on a bearing plate (5) projecting upwards from the baseplate (2) by means of two guides (7,8) between a closing position and an end position, and at least one spring (2,9) acting indirectly upon the turnover guide in the opening direction, it is proposed that the second guide (8) defines for the actuating lever (6) a location, lying at a distance from the baseplate (2), for the closing position, a locking position preceding the latter and adjacent to the baseplate (2), and an upper end location of the actuating lever (6) as the end position, in which the actuating lever (6) remains below the plane defined by the spike ends of the open turnover guide. <IMAGE>
