[origin: EP0374398A1] There is described a weft stop motion (23) for air looms with a weft insertion of yarns of varying quality, the yarns being taken off yarn stores (11, 14) and being carried by an air insertion control unit (19) via main and secondary nozzles into the air duct of a profile reed at whose capture side is arranged the weft stop motion (23) with monitoring elements which are led into the input of an amplifier (26). <??>The object is to avoid fabric faults by creating a consistent output signal from the weft stop motion, regardless of the mechanical properties of the yarns to be processed. This is achieved by supplying the amplifier (26) of the weft stop motion (23) with a signal which embodies the mechanical properties of the particular yarn. This programmes the amplifier of the weft stop motion in such a way that regardless of the signal from the yarn the output signal is always constant at the weft stop motion. <IMAGE>
