Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0374579A1] A hand-held labeller (10) is described, with the aid of which labels can be printed and/or dispensed. The apparatus has a housing (12) in which a transport device for a label strip is mounted. The label strip runs in the apparatus (10) from a supply roll (26) around a deflection edge (32), then along a housing base (30) which can be folded out from the housing (12), to a transport roller which is supported by the housing base (30) and pivotable about a spindle (52), and finally to an exit slot, there being a drive connection between the transport roller (38) and an operating lever (16), which lever can be swivelled between a position of rest and a drawn position. The drive connection contains a rack (50) which is in engagement with a pinion (54) positioned on the spindle (52) of the transport roller (38) and is connected in an articulated manner to an arm (48) of a two-armed swivel lever (46) which can be swivelled about a spindle (44) which is stationary relative to the spindle (52) of the transport wheel (38). The two arms (42, 48) of the swivel lever (46) are arranged in the swivel route of the operating lever (16) in such a way that, when the latter swivels, a transmission of movement to the arm (42) of the two-armed swivel lever (46) takes place while, during the return of the operating lever (16) into its rest position, a transmission from the operating lever (16) to the other arm (48) of the swivel lever (42) takes place. <IMAGE>
