[origin: JPH02216225A] PURPOSE: To drive a detaching roller of a comber head without an expensive gear device having a large mass for reciprocal movement by installing at least one electric motor for rotating the detaching roller by a pilgrim step movement. CONSTITUTION: This combing machine has a comber head comprising a continuously rotating comb cylinder 1, a reciprocating nipper jaw unit 3 and 4, and at least one detaching roller 9 performing a pilgrim step movement, and the comber head has an electric motor 18 for rotating the detaching roller 9 in the pilgrim step movement. The detaching roller 9 and the electric motor 18 are preferably connected through reduction gears 19 to 24. The electric motor is a brushless direct current motor or an asynchronous motor.
