Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0374763A2] A security element which can be embedded in a security document, in particular a commercial paper, in the form of a thread or strip is composed of two carrier foils, each of these carrier foils carrying each of the marking substances serving for detecting the authenticity. The two carrier foils are composed in such a way that the marking substances, which are to be protected from mechanical abrasion and other external influences, come to rest on the inside. The thread offers not only a special protection for the marking substances, but, due to its symmetrical construction, it can also be embedded in the paper substance easily and without showing a tendency to roll. <IMAGE>
