[origin: EP0374777A2] A hot air device having a heating element is proposed, which is provided with a heating conductor support and a heating conductor wire carried by the latter and with an overheating protection, a switch activated by a temperature-sensitive part being located in the power supply of the heating conductor wire, which switch is further developed in that the temperature-sensitive part is a wire piece (5) which is considerably longer than its cross-section dimensions and is made of memory material, in that the wire piece is spanned over a comparatively large area of the heating element in such a way that the wire piece is fixed on one side with one end (5a) relative to the heating conductor support (2) and engages on a movable switch part (9) of the switch (10) with its other free end (7).
