The invention proposes a tool for cutting, inserting and crimping electrical wires into consecutive parallel ducts (40) of an electrical connector in each of which is placed an insulation displacement contact, of the type comprising a head for guiding and supporting the parallelepipedal insulating body (32) of the connector in which the ducts are formed, the head comprising two parallel guiding faces (22, 24) on each of which is provided a longitudinal shoulder (26, 28) received in a corresponding groove of the insulating body, each of the grooves extending opposite the back of the ducts, close to which back the inserted wires (46) terminate. According to the invention, the tool comprises a finger (96) for automatic longitudinal stepped advance of the connector which, prior to the operations of cutting and inserting, is received in the duct (40a) opposite the slide (20) and penetrates therein in the area of the groove of the insulating body, and means (60, 62) are provided for lateral removal of the advance finger (96) to allow insertion of the wire (46) into the duct. <IMAGE>

L'invention propose un outil de coupe, d'insertion et de sertissage de fils électriques dans des alvéoles (40) parallèles consécutifs d'un connecteur électrique dans chacun desquels est monté un contact à déplacement d'isolant, du type comportant une tête de guidage et de support du corps parallépipédique isolant (32) du connecteur dans lequel sont formés les alvéoles, la tête comportant deux faces parallèles de guidage (22, 24) sur chacune desquelles est prévu un épaulement longitudinal (26, 28) reçu dans une rainure correspondante du corps isolant, chacune des rainures s'étendant en regard du fond des alvéoles à proximaté duquel se terminent les fils insérés (46). Selon l'invention, l'outil comporte un doigt (96) d'avance longitudinale automatique pas à pas du connecteur qui, préalablement aux opérations de coupe et d'insertion, est reçu dans l'alvéole (40a) en regard du coulisseau (20) et y pénètre dans la zone de la rainure du corps isolant, et il est prévu des moyens (60, 62) d'effacement latéral du doigt d'avance (96) pour permettre l'insertion du fil (46) dans l'alvéole.
