[origin: EP0376044A2] The core-drilling tool (1) comprises a tubular outer housing (2) which can be connected at its top end to a drill-pipe string (4) and can be connected at its bottom end to a core-drilling bit (5), and an inner tube (8) which receives a bored core, forms the bottom component of an inner unit supported in its top area at a connection point (7) in the outer housing (2), is mounted by means of a bearing device (9) so as to be freely rotatable relative to the top part of the inner unit (6), and can be set axially relative to the outer housing (2) by means of an adjusting device (11). In this arrangement, the adjusting device (11) comprises an adjusting thread (15, 18) and a locking element (22) with locking claws (23, 24) which can engage in locking grooves (19, 20). The adjusting device (11) forms a separate intermediate unit which is fitted into the core-drilling tool (1) in the area between the connection point (7) for the inner unit (6) and the bearing device (9) for the inner tube (8) and has an outer part (12) inserted into the outer housing (2) as well as an inner part (13) fitted into the inner unit (6) and having a cylindrical adjusting thread (15, 18).
