[origin: EP0376799A1] A frame for shipping motor vehicle glass panes (20) comprises rigid retaining rails (21) which, by the intermediary of suitable spacers or separators (22), act on the upper edges of the glass panes (20). The retaining rails (21) are provided at their rear ends with a pivoting part (24) which can slide in the vertical direction in a corresponding segment of hollow section (14 or 15), mounted vertically and fixed to the rear part (2). A tightening strap (26) is attached to the front end of the retaining rail (21) and is fixed, by the intermediary of a tension spring (28), to the bottom serving as a support (1) of the shipping frame. In the working position of the retaining rail (21), the pivoting part (24) is locked automatically by a jamming effect due to the action of the tightening strap (26).
