Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0376826A1] The invention relates to the sector of charges releasable from an aircraft to which they are fastened and particularly the beam safety device preventing the arming of the charge when the latter is attached under the aircraft. <??>A mechanical beam safety device according to the invention involves utilising the drive of a feeler (13) freely rotatable in a support (14), by means of a cable (1) which passes inside said feeler and of which one end is fastened to an aircraft and the other to means for arming a fuse for the detonation of a charge; fastened to this cable (1) is a ball (21) which, in the event of a pull on the cable (1), comes into contact with the feeler (13) and, after the release of the holding system (25) as a result of a sufficient pull on the cable (1), drives it into contact with the aircraft when the charge is fastened under the aircraft, preventing any additional displacement of the cable (1). During the release of the charge, the cable can be pulled freely and allow the charge to be armed. <??>The invention is used for bombs, the detonating fuse of which is screwed along the axis of the bomb, and for all bombs of the M.K. type. <IMAGE>
