Abstract (en)

The invention relates to a display device having a plasma panel (12) forming the display area (SA). It relates in particular to the case where the display area (SA) is divided up into elementary image points (PI1 to PI4) each having a relatively large area, so as to permit reading, with good legibility, at relatively large distances. The plasma panel (12) comprises column electrodes (X1 to X6) crossed with row electrodes (Y1 to Y6) so as to constitute a network of cells (C1 to C36). According to a characteristic of the invention, at least two contiguous cells (C1 to C36) are grouped together to constitute an elementary image point (PI1 to PI4). <IMAGE>

L'invention concerne un dispositif d'affichage ayant un panneau à plasma (12) pour former la surface d'affichage (SA). Elle concerne particulièrement le cas où la surface d'affichage (SA) est partagée en points élémentaires d'image (PI1 à PI4) ayant chacun une surface relativement grande, de manière à permettre une lecture, avec une bonne lisibilité, à des distances relativement grandes. Le panneau à plasma (12) comporte des électrodes colonnes (X1 à X6) croisées avec des électrodes lignes (Y1 à Y6) de manière à constituer un réseau de cellules (C1 à C36). Selon une caractéristique de l'invention, au moins deux cellules (C1 à C36) contiguës sont groupées pour constituer un point élémentaire d'image (PI1 à PI4).
