Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0376898A2] In a method of imprinting fabrics, leathers or similar materials in relief, the fabric (1) is subjected to thermoforming by means of a die (3) bearing a negative or positive imprint of the figure to be reproduced and operating in concert with a pad (4). Prior to the forming operation, at least one flexible layer of woven or non-woven thermoformable synthetic fibres (15) is offered to the reverse side of the fabric (1), together with an interfacing film (13) of hot melt adhesive the purpose of which is to bond the fabric (1) to the layer of synthetic fibres (15).
