[origin: EP0376914A2] A method for testing the individual valves of steam turbines using individual or group valve control, the valves being provided in each case with a hydraulic actuator and the supply line for the pressure oil of the valve to be tested being connected to a test control line, in which there is generated an oil pressure which can be adjusted independently of the automatic control line and in which the method of operation of the respective valve is tested, by means of reports back from comparison devices such as control value indicators, the oil pressure in the test control line 11 being matched with the oil pressure in the supply line 4' and the connection between the supply line 4' and the test control line 11 not being opened until matching has been completed, as well as a test device for carrying out the method, which is provided with a matching device 12 for matching the pressure in the test control line 11 to the pressure existing in the pressurised oil supply line 4 in front of the change-over valve 3, and in which a change-over valve 3 is arranged in each supply line 4' for the pressurised oil to the individual actuators 10, which change-over valve 3 is blocked until it is reported back that the pressure in the supply lines 4, 4' and in the test line 11 are the same. <IMAGE>
