Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0376919A2] Decanter for separating suspensions, having a machine bed, a drum rotatably supported on the latter, a worm mounted rotationally in the latter with a differential speed of rotation, a transmission connected between the drum and the worm, a drive motor connected to the transmission or to the rotation unit consisting of drum and worm via a torque transmission device and also mounted so as to be supported on the machine bed, and having feed lines and discharge lines and, if appropriate, auxiliary units which are also mounted on the machine bed. Such a decanter system forms, connected over the machine bed, a mass system in which critical natural oscillations are to be as far as possible avoided or damped. For this purpose, the decanter system is constructed in such a way that at least one of the components and/or auxiliary units mounted on the machine bed is decoupled from the other components mounted on the machine bed in at least one direction extending with a component directed parallel to the axis of rotation of the decanter, with the exception of the direction of the drive torque transmission, by means of elastic mounting and/or is coupled to the other components by means of a damping element.
