[origin: EP0377082A2] In a door stop for motor-vehicle doors, which consists of a door-retaining rod fastened to the door column and having a double-sided thickening and of a holder housing having this passing through it and receiving two cylindrical braking rolling bodies rolling on the two wide sides of the door-retaining rod, the braking rolling bodies are arranged in recesses, oriented parallel to the plane of movement of the door-retaining rod, of cage-like holders and, in conjunction with a crowned design of their end faces, have engaging over them on both sides holder wall parts oriented parallel to the side walls of the holder housing. Furthermore, mounted in the holders for each braking rolling body are bearing surfaces surrounding them over a maximum of half their outer circumference and, in the preassembled position, prevented from falling out by radially inward-projecting restraining means, especially projections or noses. <IMAGE>
