[origin: EP0377749A1] A balloon-carrying catheter having at a front end portion of a catheter body a balloon which can be expanded when a fluid is introduced thereinto, characterized in that the interior of the balloon is divided into a plurality of circumferentially arrayed chambers, a fluid being supplied from a fluid supply tube to at least one of these chambers to expand the same chamber, whereby the direction of the front end of the catheter is controlled at a branch point of a blood vessel.
