Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0377833A2] The invention relates to a gripper device for transporting sticky web-like materials, comprising a carriage which can be guided movably in its longitudinal direction and holding tongs arranged on said carriage, the inner sides of the legs of these tongs being designed to reduce adhesion. <??>To improve the cost-effectiveness and operational reliability of the gripper device, it is proposed to equip the inner sides (14e, 14f) of the legs (14a, 14b) of the tongs with a continuous adhesion- reducing film (23) which is pretensioned by means of a clamping frame (17) and to form this film so that it can be moved by means of a slide (20) in such a way that the displacement of the holding tongs (14) caused by the slide movement results in a movement of the adhesion- reducing film towards the end sections (14g, 14h) of the legs of the tongs in opposite directions and at the same speed. <??>The releasing movement of the holding tongs (14) causes a sticky web-like material situated between the legs of the tongs to be conveyed out of and freed from the region of the tongs without self- movement. <IMAGE>
