[origin: EP0377857A2] The electrical safeguard device for a clamping device is represented on a sheet transfer drum for printing machines for optional first impression printing or perfecting. The actuating member (27) of the clamping device is arranged so that it can be screwed axially between end positions by a thread, the screwing movement on a first portion actuating a switching member (28) for an electric switch (30) lying in the power supply circuit for the drive of the printing machine. During its movement on a second portion, the actuating member (27) acts on intermediate elements which press at least one friction surface on the sheet transfer drum against a friction surface on a part of the sheet transfer drum which is adjustable in the circumferential direction. The end positions are limited by stops consisting of a cam (32) on the actuating member (27) and two cams (33a, 33b) on a part of the machine which is arranged fixedly in terms of rotation, the two cams (33a, 33b) each being assigned to an end position and having a spacing in the direction of the axial displacement of the actuating member (27), which spacing is greater than the pitch of the thread, and the axial covering of the cam (32) on the actuating member (27) by one of the two other cams (33a, 33b) in the stop position being smaller than the pitch of the thread. <IMAGE>
