[origin: EP0377869A2] In the interconnection of wire ropes with more than six strands, the interconnection being of the long splice type, the insertion end is in each case formed by more than one strand and, as a result, no change or only a little change in the circumference of the rope occurs. It is thereby possible to produce endless ropes with a contour which is better matched to the pulleys, the said ropes being distinguished in an advantageous manner by greater smoothness of running at high speeds when used in conveying systems. <IMAGE>
