A block of cells for electrolysis consists of a plurality of electrolytic cells (1) placed one behind the other. Each electrolytic cell (1) has two sheet-type electrodes (2, 3) parallel to each other in a cell case. A membrane (4) parallel to the electrodes (2, 3) is placed in each case between adjacent electrodes (2, 3). For a modular construction it is advisable to make the arrangement such that the cell cases are each made up of four profiled plates (6) forming electrolyte half chambers (5) accommodating the electrodes (2, 3) and membranes (4) between them and the profile plates (6) of the cell cases are clamped together in a block frame (7) with two parallel block end plates (8, 9) at the end faces so as to form a pressure- sealed unit. <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Ein Elektrolysezellenblock besteht aus mehreren hintereinander angeordneten Elektrolysezellen (1). Jede Elektrolysezelle (1) weist zwei zueinander parallele plattenförmige Elektroden (2, 3) in einem Zellentrog auf. Zwischen benachbarten Elektroden (2, 3) ist jeweils eine zu den Elektroden (2, 3) parallele Membran (4) angeordnet. Für Modulbauweise empfiehlt es sich, die Anordnung so zu treffen, daß die Zellentröge jeweils aus vier, die Elektroden (2, 3) und Membranen (4) zwischen sich aufnehmenden, Elektrolytraumhälften (5) bildenden Profilplatten (6) aufgebaut sind und die Profilplatten (6) aufgebaut sind und die Profilplatten (6) der Zellentröge in einem Blockrahmen (7) mit zwei stirnseitig angeordneten parallelen Blockendplatten (8, 9) druckdicht miteinander verspannt sind.
