The invention describes a reduction plate (1) with at least one opening (2) for use in feed hoppers or casting moulds, in particular for casting steel, grey cast iron or light alloy castings, which is intended to make possible a reliable, precisely metered casting process. Es wird eine Reduzierplatte (1) mit wenigstens einem Durchbruch (2) für den Einsatz in Einlauftrichtern von Gießformen, insbesondere zum Gießen von Stahl- Grau- oder Leichtmetallguß beschrieben, mit der ein sicherer, genau dosierbarer Gießvorgang ermöglicht werden soll. Dies wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch erreicht, daß die Reduzierplatte (1) aus Stahlblech oder dgl. Metall (3) besteht, das zumindest auf der einlaufseitigen Seite eine Beschichtung (4) aus feuerfestem Material aufweist.
