[origin: EP0379042A2] In an arrangement to stir a liquid core for a strand at the mould exit in a continuous casting installation, a stirring arrangement is provided adjoining the moulding cavity of an oscillating mould. In order to achieve a high stirring effect for a relatively low energy requirement and, at the same time, to be able to carry out a rapid and simple mould change with or without a change of stirrer and to lower investment costs for mould stirrers, the stirring arrangement directly adjoining the cool moulding cavity of the mould and oscillating together with the latter can be mounted on the mould table separately from the mould. <IMAGE>
