Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0379135A2] The invention relates to a swinging and sliding twin door 4, in particular for a suburban rail vehicle having a central drive and locking system 10, the swinging and sliding door 4 being mounted in the closed state in a plane flush with the outer skin of the vehicle in a door opening 5 of the carriage body 2, can be swivelled outwards into a displacement plane vertically to its closing plane in order to open and then can be displaced into the open position by means of a multi-component telescopic rail 7. The object of the present invention consists in designing the swinging and sliding twin door 4 in such a way that it can be inserted into the angled region of the carriage body 2 and in the open position can be moved past the carriage body 2 on both sides so tightly that the structure clearance is not exceeded. This goal is achieved by the two door halves being movable into an angle position which is as symmetrical as possible in relation to the closing plane when the swinging and sliding twin door 4 swivels out of its closed position into the displacement position. At the same time, each door half is mounted in a separate, multi-component telescopic rail 7. <IMAGE>
