[origin: EP0379439A1] Rigid suitcase of the type constituted by a central frame (1) in the shape of a rigid ring to which are fixed two rigid shells, one of these two shells (2) being articulated on one of the sides of the central frame such that it can pivot through at least 180 DEG . The central frame (1), which is a single part, is constituted such that it comprises in its upper section a hollow housing (10) covered by a strengthening part (11) in order to constitute a hollow beam serving to rigidify the upper wall of the suitcase, this hollow beam receiving the closing mechanisms, the central handle and the side handle of the suitcase. <IMAGE>
