Abstract (en)
[origin: DE3725820C1] A pitch-control system automatically corrects the pitch in accordance with a harmony-dependent, variable key, in particular the harmonic key, for a musical instrument having an input device for inputting note input signals in a predetermined fixed key, in particular the tempered key, and a sound-generating device to which the note input signals are applied. The pitch-control system comprises a chord-recognition circuit which determines, for each input signal pattern corresponding to a chord, whether the input signal pattern corresponds to a chord pattern in a predeterined plurality of chord patterns, a signal pattern memory circuit (34) which records a signal pattern for each chord pattern in the predetermined plurality of chord patterns, and a control circuit (32) which, when the chord recognition circuit determines that an input singal pattern corresponding to one of the predetermined chord patterns is applied, causes the signal pattern memory circuit (34) to apply the signal pattern corresponding to the chord pattern so determined to the tone-generating device (20) for generation of the chord corresponding to the variable key.
