A bobbin gripper (1) moves into the bobbin core (K1) of the yarn bobbin (G1) and is fixed by means of a spreader device (4). Arranged in the bobbin gripper (1) is an injector (8), by means of which the yarn end (F1) arranged in or in front of the bobbin core (K1) before the transport operation is sucked by means of a vacuum into the interior (2.1 - 3.1 - 8.1) of the bobbin gripper (1). In this state, the yarn bobbin (G1) is slipped by means of the bobbin gripper (1) onto a hollow mandrel of a conveyor system or of a yarn- processing machine.
