Abstract (en)
A four-stroke internal-combustion engine having a block head and two gas-changing valves per cylinder and injection valves, which are located on the side of the camshaft, located underneath, and are intended to be arranged as steeply and centrally as possible. According to the invention, the achievement of this object, which is exacerbated by the normal position of the rocker arm supports, is that the rocker arm supports (7) for the rocker arms (4) of each cylinder (1) are arranged outside the cylinder centre and in consequence the cylinder centre remains free for the desired accommodation of the injection valves. The invention is particularly suitable for directly-injecting diesel engines. <IMAGE>

Viertaktbrennkraftmaschine mit Blockkopf und zwei Gaswechselventilen pro Zylinder und Einspritzventilen, die sich auf der Seite der untenliegenden Nockenwelle befinden und möglichst steil und zentral angeordnet sein sollen. Die Lösung dieser Aufgabe, die durch die übliche Lage der Kipphebelböcke erschwert wird, liegt erfindungsgemäß darin, daß die Kipphebelböcke (7) für die Kipphebel (4) eines jeden Zylinders (1) außerhalb der Zylindermitte angeordnet sind und dadurch diese für die gewünschte Unterbringung der Einspritzventile frei bleibt. Die Erfindung eignet sich besonders für direkteinspritzende Dieselmotoren.
