The pivoting clamping device consists of a cylinder (2) provided with pressure-medium connections and having an extendable and retractable piston (5) and piston rod (1), to the free end of which a clamping arm (17) is fastened. The piston-rod pivoting guide is designed in the form of a pivoting guide sleeve (3) with a pivoting guide groove. The pivoting guide sleeve (3) surrounds the piston rod (1), guides the latter over its entire length and is arranged so as to be axially stationary and fixed in terms of rotation in the cylinder inner space on the piston-rod side while keeping an effective area of the piston (5) clear on the piston-rod side. A pivoting transmission element is arranged between the pivoting guide sleeve (3) and the piston rod (1). This device is constructed according to the invention in such a way that the cylinder (2) is of pot-like design with its opening orientated towards the clamping arm, and the pivoting guide sleeve (3), forming an installation unit with the piston rod (1) and associated piston (5), can be inserted into this cylinder (2) in such a way as to be exactly guided with its top end in the region of the open end of the cylinder (2) and at least in the region of its bottom end (3') by the cylinder inner wall (2''). Die Schwenkspannvorrichtung besteht aus einem mit Druckmediumsanschlüssen versehenen Zylinder (2) mit vor- und rückstellbarem Kolben (5) und Kolbenstange (1), an deren freien Ende ein Spannarm (17) befestigt ist. Die Kolbenstangenschwenkführung ist in Form einer die Kolbenstange (1) umfassenden, diese mit ihrer ganzen Länge führenden, im kolbenstangenseitigen Zylinderinnenraum unter Freihaltung einer kolbenstangenseitigen Beaufschlagungsfläche des Kolbens (1) axial feststehend und verdrehfest angeordneten Schwenkführungshülse (3) mit einer Schwenkführungsnut ausgebildet, zwischen der und der Kolbenstange (1) ein Schwenkübertragungselement angeordnet ist. Diese Vorrichtung ist nach der Erfindung derart ausgestaltet, daß der Zylinder (2) topfartig, mit seiner Öffnung zum Spannarm hin orientiert, ausgebildet ist und in diesen mit ihrem oberen Ende im Bereich des offenen Endes des Zylinders (2) und mindestens im Bereich ihres unteren Endes (3') von der Zylinderinnenwand (2") exakt geführt, die mit der Kolbenstange (1) und zugehörigen Kolben (5) eine Einbaueinheit bildende Schwenkführungshülse (3) einsetzbar ist. Die Schwenkführungsnut der Hülse (3) ist dabei in Form eines die Wand (3") der Hülse (3) durchgreifenden, beidendig geschlossenen Schlitzes (7) ausgebildet. In diesen Schlitz (7) ist das freie Ende (8) eines in die Kolbenstange (1) einschiebbar fixierten Mitnehmerzapfens (9) eingreifend angeordnet.
