Abstract (en)

The invention relates to a method for distributing parcels in an urban district. The parcels are sorted so as to be distributed as a function of the areas for which they are destined; the parcels intended for an area are placed in a closed container (3) which is equipped with at least one door (6, 7) whose dimensions are such that this may readily be loaded onto and off-loaded from a vehicle; the container (3) thus loaded is brought, preferably during non-peak traffic hours, into the area in which the parcels which it contains are to be distributed; the container (3) is placed on a support device (10, 11) intended to receive it, after which the vehicle which has transported it may be freed, as the delivery of the parcels contained in the container is carried out using means which can be displaced manually along a pavement, such as a truck or a trolley. <IMAGE>

Abstract (fr)

L'invention est relative à un procédé de distribution de colis en milieu urbain. On procède au tri des colis pour les répartir en fonction des quartiers de leur destination; on place les colis destinés à un quartier dans un conteneur (3) fermé, muni d'au moins une porte (6,7), dont les dimensions sont telles qu'il peut être facilement chargé sur et déchargé d'un véhicule; on amène, de préférence pendant des heures de circulation réduite, le conteneur (3) ainsi chargé dans le quartier où les colis qu'il contient doivent être distribués; on place le conteneur (3) sur un dispositif support (10, 11) destiné à le recevoir, après quoi le véhicule qui l'a transporté peut être libéré et à l'aide de moyens déplaçables manuellement sur un trottoir, tel qu'un chariot ou un diable, on procède à la livraison des colis contenus dans le conteneur.
