A machine is claimed for the forming of ornamental chain with cylindrical helix links, comprising: - a primary section (A) for the displacement of each free link, to a position for linking it with the corresponding link in the chain being formed, with a motorised vertical shaft carrying a horizontal support for guiding a slide block of a bank of carrying tongs, sliding horizontally between a remote, inactive position and two forward working positions, respectively for grasping the free link from a link forming machine and positioning it for linking, with a pinch for grasping the free link, that is slaved to a helicoidal advancing movement along its longitudinal axis, in order to make the linkage with the last corresp. link of the chain being formed; - a secondary section (B) for the blocking of the leading - last link of the chain being formed, with a vertical motorised hollow shaft, sliding axially and carrying a horizontal slide for a slide block provided withtwo distinct vices and moving in a manner suitable to position separately these vices in the blocking position for the corresp. link of the chain during its formation. The method of using this machine is also claimed.

Une machine pour la formation de chaînes ornementales avec des mailles en hélice cylindrique, comprenant: - une première section (A) pour les déplacements de chaque maille libre, jusqu'à son maillage avec la maille correspondante de la chaîne en cours de formation qui a été maillée en dernier, avec un arbre vertical (12) motorisé, portant un support horizontal (15) de guidage pour un coulisseau (16) d'un groupe porte-pince, coulissant horizontalement entre une position reculée inactive et deux positions avancées, respectivement, de prise d'une maille libre d'une machine de formation des mailles et de positionnement de ladite maille libre dans une position de maillage; avec une pince (35) pour la prise de la maille libre, qui est asservie à un mouvement d'avancement hélicoidal suivant de son axe longitudinal, pour réaliser le maillage avec la dernière maille correspondante de la chaîne en formation; - une deuxième section (B) pour le blocage de l'avant-dernière maille de la chaîne en formation, avec un arbre creux (42) vertical motorisé, coulissant axialement, et portant une glissière horizontale (43) pour un coulisseau (44) pourvu de deux étaux distincts (45,46) et mobile de manière appropriée pour positionner séparément lesdits étaux (45,46) dans la position de blocage d'une maille correspondante de la chaîne en cours de formation.
