[origin: WO9001755A1] This vending machine includes a housing frame (12) subdivided into vertical columns (1-8) adapted to receive cylindrical articles (C). Elongate, rotatable support members (60) are provided below each column for supporting the column of articles, which tend to rotate under the weight of the articles. A ratchet wheel (70) and pawl member (80) assembly provided at one end of each support member provides a release mechanism controlling rotation of the support member incident to dispensing an article. The release mechanism associated with a selected column is actuated by an indexing member (94) carried by an endless loop (100) driven by an electric motor (M). The indexing member is positioned adjacent one of the pawl members to dispense an article by moving an associated pawl member into and out of engagement with the ratchet wheel in response to customer selection. A depletion detection device (500) is provided.

Ce distributeur automatique comprend un cadre (12) de structure subdivisé en colonnes verticales (1 à 8) adaptées pour recevoir des articles cylindriques (C). Des éléments (60) de support allongé, rotatifs, sont prévus en dessous de chaque colonne afin de supporter la colonne d'articles, et tournent sous l'effet du poids des articles. Un ensemble de roue à cliquet (70) et d'élément d'encliquetage (80) prévu à une extrémité de chaque élément de support contitue un mécanisme de libération commandant la rotation de l'élément de support incident pour distribuer un article. Le mécanisme de libération associé à une colonne sélectionnée, est actionné par un élément d'un ensemble d'éléments (101 à 108) d'indexation à liaison angulaire, porté par un arbre moteur (100), chaque élément d'indexation étant adjacent à un élément d'encliquetage associé. L'arbre moteur est entraîné par un moteur électrique (M) et les éléments d'indexation sont mis en rotation de sorte que l'un d'eux est positionné pour déplacer un élément d'encliquetage associé en contact avec ladite roue à cliquet et hors de contact d'avec celle-ci, afin de distribuer un article en réponse à la sélection d'un client.
