Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0381585A1] Electric fence system, for penning livestock, or preventing intrusion by animals or persons; this system comprises a means of detecting the electrical condition of the fence at the end of the line. A pulse generator A sends electrical discharges in the insulated wires F; a detector D is situated at the end of the line, or at a position remote from A; this detector analyses the signal received and returns an "echo" signal which depends upon the effectiveness of the main signal. The "echo" signal is received, interpreted and displayed at a central site which may be that where the generator A is located. This provides information about problems which may be located at any arbitrary point of the fence. <IMAGE>
