Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0381587A1] The invention makes possible, moreover, the demounting of the heating elements (18) of a section without dismantling the latter. The furnace comprises an external enclosure, inside which there is a refractory core with a horizontal axis, which is equipped with heating means (18) distributed inside the core. It is constituted by a number of sections which are fixed to one another in an impermeable manner. The heating means (18) are mounted inside the refractory core, passing through the external enclosure (17) via impermeable passages (20) positioned on the end faces (25, 26) of the sections. The heating means (18) are constituted by electric resistance elements positioned laterally on the internal walls of the refractory core. The latter is of square cross-section and is consituted by refractory elements (11) assembled by interlocking by means of tenons and mortises. The floors (13) and the sides (23) are made in the form of monobloc pieces in the form of an elongate I, which are symmetrical and reversible. Application in the firing of refractory powders used as nuclear fuels. <IMAGE>
