[origin: EP0381836A2] For reasons of safety, such energy-rich gaseous fuels are in general made available in known gas supplies only at low pressures, as a result of which there is a limit to the possibilities of use for these gaseous fuels. In order to overcome this disadvantage, without having to equip entire supply installations with safety technology, it is proposed to increase the pressure of the acetylene or gaseous fuel to a desired value which is higher than otherwise available from the supply with a corresponding device only as required and directly before the respective consumer(s).
