[origin: EP0382710A2] A hood (2) has hood case which is built into an upper cabinet (1) and which forms, leaving free a useful cabinet space (10), a take-off duct (7) which leads from a take-off screen (4) arranged in the bottom region of the cabinet to a fan unit (6) provided in the top region or an intermediate compartment region of the cabinet (1).
