[origin: EP0382928A1] Arranged on the underside of a vacuum cleaner is a flat reserve compartment, extending essentially over the entire surface of the dust space, for receiving the operating instructions, replacement dust bags, fine filters and the like, which reserve compartment can be closed by a lid (3). The lid (3) is suspended by means of joints (8) in the motor space region and can be opened up to an opening position of about 40 DEG or can be removed completely by forcing it over the opening position. In the handle region of the vacuum cleaner, this lid (3) has a key closure (7) with a resilient tongue which engages in a recess on the underside of the handle region.
